Kevin, a certified leadership coach, has over 30 years of hands-on business leadership experience and a professional doctorate in leadership development. He started and scaled several businesses starting with a downtown dance club while in college (also where he met his wife), a house painting business after college, a house cleaning business to support his “ministry habit” and eventually landing in the Auto Body Repair industry.
Most recently he started a retreat center and short-term rental business on 50 private acres he and his family own in Daniel Boone National Forest near Red River Gorge, Kentucky called Dappled Light Adventures. (dappledlightadventures.com)
While in Auto Body Repair, Kevin started with one small neighborhood shop and eventually scaled to 5 shops between the Cincinnati, Ohio and Lexington, KY markets. From small beginnings in 2003, he grew that one location 10x over 10 years before acquiring 4 more shops and scaling 50x over his 18-year career in that industry.
For 10 years, Kevin wrote a monthly column for his industry’s most-read magazine, Fender Bender (fenderbender.com).
In 2021 He sold all 5 of his body shops and tried to retire.
Kevin failed as a retiree and in 2021-2022 launched a retreat center, a coaching business and a family-led foundation focused on funding adoption stories. He loves leading in those enterprises right alongside his adult children.
When he’s not coaching leaders or leading retreats, Kevin likes to experience God’s creation at high speeds on his adventure motorcycle or slow down a bit and fish in one of his favorite – though top secret – fishing holes.
He’s also putting the final touches on a book set to release in 2023 called Launch to Legacy: The Christian Entrepreneurs Roadmap to Scaling Profits and Purpose.
